T-J Malherbe Physiotherapist : BSc Physiotherapy (UCT)

Terry-Jill (T-J) Malherbe is an experienced physiotherapist who founded her private practice in 1999 after graduating with a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in 1997. Prior to this, she completed a year of BSc Nursing, providing a strong clinical foundation that continues to inform her patient-centred approach to care.

Early in her career, T-J gained valuable international experience working at the World Longboard Championships and at leading sports science institutes in Australia. She later joined the Physiotherapy Department at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa before relocating to the United Kingdom, where she practised as a locum physiotherapist within the National Health Service and private hospitals and practices.

After returning to Cape Town, T-J established her private practice and built a strong reputation in sports physiotherapy. She served as physiotherapist to the Cape Cobras from 2000 to 2011 and to Villagers Rugby Club from 2000 to 2025. She also worked as Southern Suburbs physiotherapist for the Stormers under the mentorship of Helen Millson. Her career has included travelling with provincial, national, and international teams across multiple sporting codes including cricket, rugby, hockey, and tennis, supporting athletes at ICC and World Cup tournaments.

In addition to her sports physiotherapy expertise, T-J holds her Cecchetti Advanced dancer and ballet teaching qualifications (1998) and completed her Body Contrology Pilates certification between 1999 and 2000. She integrates evidence-based rehabilitation with Pilates principles to deliver a comprehensive and individualised approach to treatment and recovery.

T-J remains actively involved in professional development and education, contributing to the Sports Physiotherapy (SPT) course and serving on the Western Cape Sports Physiotherapy committees.

A passionate sportswoman herself, T-J has completed both the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades Marathon and has represented Western Province in IPT hockey. Outside of physiotherapy, she enjoys photography and supporting her three children in their sporting pursuits.

Amanda Pepper is an integrated massage and movement therapist with a strong and growing foundation in sports science, specialising in performance recovery, injury prevention, and movement optimisation.

She works with a clearunderstanding of the physical and neurological demands placed on athletes, particularly in high-impact and field-based sports.
